We spent 8 nights at this hotel in a room facing the pool on the second floor in the wing right off the lobby to the left, The room was bright, very clean, and appeared to have undergone some renovating, new beds for sure. A/C kept the room nice and cool, and there was a good sized refrigerator and a small coffee maker. Balcony was large with two chairs and a table. Large screen tv. Both the bathroom and the bedroom had ceiling fans. These rooms do not have a safe, but you can get a box at the front desk, no charge. There is also no hair dryer in the room, but I believe you can borrow one. Unfortunately, the back of our room faced the back of the lobby, and there was a loud fan that ran 24/7. At night it was a steady loud hum, we had to crank the bathroom window shut, and pile things agains the crack at the bottom of the door to deaden the noise for sleeping. Pool area had plenty of loungers (which the 6 a.m. people ran out to reserve the best locations every day). Pool was warm. Fluff...
Loved the Inn, it was perfect for what we were looking for. Central to everywhere we wanted to be, walking distance to several shops, restaurants and groceries. Pool was great, staff was great, everything was great. One very nice thing is that we were not constantly being bugged about buying or anything like that. They do offer the information, but not pushy. The only negative thing is that the beds were not the most comfortable, but apparently that's everywhere in Mexico. We will definetely return to the Inn.
I have stayed at this hotel several time (timeshare owners), and this last stay will be my last! When we arrived, the front counter staff were very rude! We did not get the room we paid for. We were offered an up grade, which we had to pay an additional $300.00 for. In the upgraded room, the kitchen was flooded, the elivator did not work, the bathroom smelled of sewage, and our fridge was broken.. In addition, my husband asked the staff several time to fix these items and had even asked the hotel manager, and still nothing was done.\nFurther, when going to the restaurant in the hotel, you would wait at least an hour (for each) to place, receive, and pay your bill everytime. We learned to do it alll at one time. The same applys to ordering drinks or food around the pool. They would also charge you for things you did not have and give you things you did not order regularly. \nFinally, at the end of this nightmare, my husband asked if they were going to compensate us for any of the ite...
Nice place but I like El Moro better. Crowd is much younger there and they have lounge chairs on the beach. Our room was a little noisy because it backed up to street....but we were in Mexico so didnt want to complain. We like beach vendors and this hotel has a wall that keeps them from walking up to you. They can still talk to you but they cant really come over the wall.
A fabulous place that is even better. A change in management meant everything was stepped up even more. Food and beverages were outstanding. Staff couldn't have been warmer and more responsive to everything. Menu had great choices and moderate prices. Even the sumptuous breakfast buffet was priced right. The place was immaculate, the pools clean and welcoming. Any request was addressed immediately. Can't wait to return. Free WiFi in the lounge.
We had not been to Mazatlan so didnt really know where to stay but we really lucked out when we booked at The Inn. If youre looking for a place that is central to great restaurants shops and the beach...The Inn is the place for you. We were approached by someone who wanted to sell us a piece of it right after checking in but I have to say that they didnt bug us about it. No high pressure sales which we really appreciated because we were there to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The staff was terrific the restaurant attached has fantastic food and service. The poolside waiters were awesome. We could go on and on but basically our trip could not have been better. After walking up and down the beach we decided that we were in the right place for our romantic getaway.
The hotel is quite beautiful and all rooms have a set back ocean view. The garden setting is gorgeous and both pools are very nice. The rooms not in the tower are somewhat dated and the one thing not liked was the hotel dings you for all your needs...coffee and such you had to buy from the front desk...even though there is a coffee maker in the room. No coffee cups and the maids never gave new glasses when you had used ones in your room...cleaned them myself. Just little stuff that most people take for granted. Internet is available at the hotel but not for free as we assumed. They charge $40 american dollars per week for use. Wow more than I would have felt they needed to charge. Overall we did love the Inn. The restaurant, Papaguyas is one of the best places to eat. Delicious food and not overpriced compared to other places in Mazatlan. Another DO NOT MISS eating place is 'I Love Lucy's' downtown..Awesome food and so much to choose from..will go back there again next year ...
The rooms were comfortable and the staff was great. We had a very pleasant vacation mostly due to having a nice place to stay. The view was beautiful and the sound of the ocean relaxing. I would definately stay at this hotel again.
The Inn at Mazatlan was an amazing experience! Their customer service was unmatched and simply the most attentive I've ever experienced. How often do you stay at a hotel that when you leave you hug the staff goodbye? We did here! Our rooms were gorgeous, the pool, bar, food, drinks, prices, everything was simpl perfect! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone interested. The hotel's website definitely does not do justice to the beauty and unsurpassed experience you'll receive at this hotel. Can't wait to go back!
We stayed at the Inn at Mazatlan and stayed Oct. 2008 and had a great time. The resort location is the best in Mazatlan right in the golden zone within walking distance to tons of restaurants and shopping. The resort is well run, clean and right on the beach and has lots of lounge chairs and shade if you want it. The Fiesta on Wed. night was fun for the whole family with Pinatas, mexican dancers, singers and a great mexican buffet. Our room was very nice. The prices for food and drinks were very reasonable at the resort. They have happy hour twice a day. The pools were beautiful and clean and we felt very safe at this resort.
I would stay at The Inn at Mazatlan again without hesitation. I would rate it as an excellent place to stay. The staff and overall service was friendly, couteous and very helpful. The room had a breathtaking view of the ocean and immaculate grounds surrounded us. When I requested more hangars they were delivered in minutes. The room was clean when we arrived and housekeeping kept it that way every day. The beds were a bit hard, but comfortable enough. It was a good value for the money. My only complaints about the room were the refrigerator that could not be adjusted and everything froze in it and the alarm clock went off at all different times and could not be turned off- it had to be unplugged.
Beautiful vieuw at the beach. The cleaning service, at the hotel is very good. Hotel is near shopps, discotheak and restaurants. Swimmingpools are not clean enough. The towels are very old, they are washed to many times, should be replaced . some other maintance at the hotel is necesairy.
Staff are really good and the location is excellent. I stayed almost 9 days in the hotel and It is one of the best hotel. The staffs helped me alot bcz i don't know spanish.
The staff is very friendly, called us by name, very clean -- if we neeed or wanted anything- they were veryquick and efficient No, it was great location
I spent last week at Margaritas-it's nothing fancy, but it was well run by some really nice people who tried (and succeeded) in making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. It's across the street from the beach, so you have to put in a little effort (walk a block), but for the price, I thought it was just fine- pool was clean but small, but I was about the only person there (off season) so it really didn't matter. If you want to save some bucks, this place will do nicely. One important note-Travel website states all rooms have kitchenettes and fridges-NO rooms have either-you'll need to buy a cooler at the grocery store next door and spend a buck for ice everyday.
They are always cleaning! Necessary when you are right on the beach, but still impressive. Constant sweeping. The A/C worked well in my room, but not in my friends' room. Although the beds were hard, they managed to be very comfortable for me. Several English tv channels. It is right on the beach! Nice to be able to just walk right there and also to have the view. NOISY! I had a room overlooking the pool, but also the beach. My room had very little insulation from the noise on the beach (bands) or down below (poolside entertainment) OR next door (through the adjoining door). In fact, every afternoon, my room also smelled like frying food from the pool restaurant. The sounds of the waves in the middle of the night were very strong, too! I also went to perhaps the best quality restaurant there (La Concha) and had a delicious meal, which I then vomited up a few hours later. I was surprised that, as careful as I was about eating only trustworthy places and foods, that cooked fish, vegetables and rice would finally get me. Towel service was spotty. They would come get the dirty towels early in the day and not clean the room until late afternoon, so if you needed a shower mid-day, you might have been without a towel. I rarely was provided with hand towels and washcloths both. They try very hard to get you to buy a timeshare. No desire, with an experience like this.
I loved the location of the hotel. Right on the beach and loved that 3 of the el cid hotels are on the same property so many pools to choose from. Right next to señor frogs which has open bar on Wednesday and Friday which is so fun! Very loud. Under construction?? Can hear everything.
The staff is their biggest asset for sure. Well the loud speaker for the pool activities was a little overboard.
Location: - Right at the water with a sandy beach. - Rooms with ocean view are available at an affordable rate. - Next to Joe's Oyster Bar - a great beach club / bar for late night dancing and fun - Close to old Mazatlan (short cab ride or nice walk on the beach) Nothing - I thought it was a great hotel
Hotel location is good, close to shopping mall in the tourist area. non confortable beds, towels, sheets and pillows very old and smells to humidity. Bad service in check in. General room conditions are less than expected. Internet access is not good and very expensive as well.
Beautiful Shower! Close walk to historic district. Small pool
It was beautiful. The location was perfect; the balcony setting overlooking the ocean was amazing. Easy access to Old Town. Best night I've ever spent in Mazatlan. No complaints!
i liked the staff. very polite and accommodating the pool was filthy. the guests were dirty. elevators leaked water from ceiling. it was busy and not very private. the ocean had lots of dangerous waves and jelly fish. food was mediocre. there was construction going on and it was very loud!!!! could not sleep in! it is far from the city.
Beach location was good, but very overcrowded when I was there. I was there with the business colleague for a business trip and was highest price hotel in Mazatlan. When I found my room was not on the beach side hotel, we paid and upgraded to rooms on the beachfront hotel. However, we found out it was only one bedroom suite room they wanted to put us in. When I went to get a second room, they made me pay an up charge again. I truly felt that it was a scam to keep getting more money out of me. This whole process took 1.5 hours to check in and was very frustrating. Facilities are very dated and not completely clean like newer hotels would be. The pool area and beach was very crowded while I was there. There was no room to grab a chair. It was more an old vacation time-share place, than a quality business hotel. Some place like the Ramada would have been a better choice and $100 cheaper. I had stayed at the W in Mexico City for the same price as this and it was in a whole other level. If I was to compare the 2, El Cid would have to be a 1 or 2 out of 10. They may charge these higher prices to compensate for the timeshare people that do not provide enough cash flow.
