160.00 a night on a weekend? 15 a day for parking?
Luxury hotel. Restaurants on floor level. Hair in tub.
Nothing I would recommend this hotel. It was centrally located in downtown Kalamazoo MI. My husband is a retired Delta pilot who has traveled the world and he rated our stay at the hotel, excellent! He ordered room service while we were there and the food was delicious.
its down town, close to everything. staff was great. very clean. rooms were kind of small and the walls were thin you can hear everyone in the halls and the rooms on either side.
Very low hot water pressure in shower, did not deliver chocolate strawberries to my room like they were supposed to
My adult daughter did not sleep well because sound carried via room vent from room next door.
Location, walking distance to food, drinks, shopping Cost, plumbing issues, elevators, sound issues. Super expensive, but the location is great. It's the only hotel in the heart of downtown, that's why they gouge ya. Jerks.
We loved everything. The bed was so cozy, the sheets were super soft. The ceiling was hand detailed painted. The staff were extremely helpful and sweet. The food was simply delicious. This experience was so amazing we won't ever be able to stay at a boring old hotel again. We loved everything. There wasn't anything we didn't like. We have no complaints.
Relatively clean, nice place to stay for a night or two. We were placed in the corner on the bottom floor and, particularly on Thursday night it was quite loud (I'm fairly certain it was the room above us that was having rather loud intercourse). You could hear every time someone flushed their toilet, which was typical, but could be obnoxious for some. I also found the bed a tad firm, but this is also a personal preference rather than an actual problem with the hotel as a whole.
NOISE that impacted my sleep so much it ruined my days in Kzoo
Very clean Comfortable beds Staff was very welcoming and positive New hotel Room was small but had everything we needed Excellent price Late check out of noon instead of 11 like most places Right off the highway near Kzoo THe only reason why I didn't give this place 5/5 is the walls are very thin. We could hear a lot of what was going on in the rooms above and on each side of us.
Bed was comfortable
Very loud, walls are paper thin. Would have had a better night sleep in my car in the parking lot.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived after midnight and the front desk spent time suggesting places for my sister and I to visit the next day, even though it was very late. Also, the beds were very comfy and stocked with plenty of pillows. Overall, very happy with my stay.
Very nice kitchen, loved the bigger refrigerator. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, best I've seen in a hotel. Pool and jacuzzi were out of order the whole weekend. They were one of the big selling points for me on this hotel and we never got to use them. Hallway down by pool reeked of marijuana. Went to leave Saturday evening and the car next to us had two guys smoking a joint in it. Couldn't go in or out of the front door without walking through a bunch of people smoking.

The room was very spacious with many features. The kitchen area had a breakfast bar, refrigerator, microwave, dishes, coffee maker, and toaster. Living room had fold out sofa. Bathroom had separate sink/vanity area and shower/toilet room.
Very Friendly Staff,
Clean. Great pool and patio. Staff friendly and helpful. No
they had a room available!

Price Yes, found look strands of hair in shower. My room was right next to outdoors basketball court and swimming pool. Very noisy.
Location Yes. There was a man banging on the exterior door of the adjacent room and shouting obscene language from 4 am to 4:30 am. I called the front desk twice, no answer. The man entered the hotel room attacked a lady, I called the police. It was scarry.
Spacious rooms, comfortable
Great apartment style room. Spacious, full kitchen. Breakfast included. Had internet (wired) in room, would have liked wireless.
Bedding was clean and comfortable. Carpet was very dirty, I could not walk barefoot on it. The setting did not seem Marriott standards as I know them.
The room was spacious and accommodating. The outside entry way to my room was not as well kept as it could have been.
The hotel is older but the staff is fantastic. Always friendly and willing to help. Will go out of their way to make you feel at home.
I had a great time when I stay at the Holiday Inn. However, the internet was too slow to do something such as email.
I stayed here for one night with my 6 & 7 year olds for spring break. The check-in staff were nice and welcoming. They offered to 'upgrade' us to a room with direct access to the pool and I eagerly agreed. Bad idea, if you need to get some sleep! It meant that we were together with all the other springbreakers (mostly tweens and teens) and it was loud with voices in the hallway and doors slamming until way after 11pm and again as early as 7am! The pool area was clean but watch out as the areas around the pool was very slippery! We found out when one of mine slipped & hit his head! Luckily he was alright. I liked the idea that 'up to 4 kids can eat free with one paying adult.' Howevever, the portions on the kids' menu are obviously for 2 year olds. My boys ordered pizza--they were about half the size of the personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut. Two bites, the pizza was gone & they were still hungry. Oh, and it took forever for us to get our food AND the check. The waitress kept disappearing....
This hotel is really old, outdated and extremely dirty with a serious sound problem. The Holidome is unattended by staff and the facility allows outside persons to have birthday parties in the Holidome. These parties are attended by tons of children swimming and running around with minimal supervision. The facility is very dirty with bugs seen in public as well as the private bathrooms. Staff was unprofessional and unconcerned re: customer complaints.
I found that the staff of this hotel was very helpful, especially for people whe were unfamiliar with the area. I was very appreciative of the shuttle service.
We couldn't get reservations into the Holiday Inn with a waterpark in Grand Rapids. So, I took my 6-year-old son and his friend for an overnight stay at Holiday Inn West in Kalamazoo and a day at Pirate's Island (the waterpark) nearby. We stayed here so the boys could swim and play video games at the hotel and have a free breakfast. Great food but it took forever for us to get our dinner! Breakfast was awesome. The room and the pool were great. But the hotel was noisy--people slamming doors late into the night and early in the morning. We didn't get much rest. Hotel location is great--it is close to other places of entertainment for kids for daytime activities. All in all, not a bad value for the money.
It is OK at best with new furniture.
Unclean hotel, old.. needs alot of help, the remodeling is only a bandaid at best! Hair on bathroom floors in my room and all of our wedding parties rooms. Management another story, they could care less
checked in, wrong room, came back to the desk, placed in the same room type.. decided I didn't want to walk all the way down again, next morning no continental breakfast... friends stayed elsewhere and were extremely happy with their stay.. I guess it's time to find out where they stayed and go there next time
The outside looks a little sketchy, but the newly renovated rooms were very nice!! Everything was clean and up to our standards. We enjoyed our stay!
I've stayed here in the past with no problems and gave high ratings, but this time the room was not clean. I was too tired to deal with it that night as I arrived late in the evening, but the NEW manager in the morning took care of it immediately and gave me a Full refund and apology! She said improvements were coming. I will give them another try next time I need to stay in Kalamazoo.
We were given a handicap room which was very large and comfortable. The bed was huge and clean and comfy. This is a simple hotel, but if you're not going to be in your hotel a lot, it's perfect House keeping showed up at 9am and tried to come in about 5 times.
It looked really nice, the lawn was pretty. There were dead bugs everywhere.
Great room. Very comfortable. There were stains on the bed sheets and towels. Very gross. Felt very dirty. Towels and sheets need to be cleaned better.
-Very friendly staff -Option to decline housekeeping service in advance - green -Very accomodating for check in/out... late check in available, later check out available. -Not far from downtown area.. shopping, food -Bar/Restaurant in lobby -I expected a little higher appearance quality for the room based on the price and how pretty the lobby/exterior photos, however, it was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable!
A beautiful old castle with unique rooms, each decorated in an opulent style. Gourmet breakfast. Room not ready after a weekend wedding group left. A cursory cleaning and change of linens only. We found and empty cup and flower stems in the room. Also, we came in after dark and there were no lights on at all on the stairs up to our second floor room. Very scary and dangerous.
Service at the front desk from James was wonderful! Indoor pool was too small to swim laps.
We couldn't find the place, got lost on airport property looking for your address on Kilgore. The Sheriff showed up and allowed us to follow him to your hotel. He commented that this has happened before! Correct your address on your website!
There was nothing that I liked about this hotel The pool was dirty and a nasty green color. They claimed the levels her safe but you couldn't even see the bottom of it. All of the craftsmanship on the hotel was gross. No warm water or water pressure. It smelled. It was just a gross hotel and VERY over priced. DO NOT STAY HERE. They were understaffed on a holiday weekend and the manager didn't even bother to come in and help out. Worst hotel experience ever. To top it off- the remote was taped together with a tacky stripped duct tape.
Loved the room, friendly staff. The woman running breakfast had no clue. When we got there, there were no hot entrees. I asked if we could have some more scrambled eggs, and she explained that there had been a rush, and it would be a small wait. Fine - until I looked around for something else to eat. No fruit, no knives, no milk, no oatmeal. The trash was overflowing. And in the middle of it was this woman asking everyone who came in if she could help them, then explaining that she couldn't.
Room was clean, staff was friendly Continental breakfast could have been better
There was a bed to sleep in & a shower to shower in. the area was under construction. my room key would not unlock the outside door. bed was not as comfortable as I hoped. and the building was under construction or renovation also.
Location was close to the Expo center. They do have a full breakfast, when it's stocked. Pool is outdoor! Our key card only worked 1/2 the time, even after being reprogrammed. They actually gave us the master key to use once, and it still took 4-5 tries to get that to work. Fitness center equipment was 15-20 yrs old. Shower didn't work right and was missing the stopper part of the drain. They had no pillows for our son who was staying on the sofa bed. Overall I expected way more for the money. Very poor choice for the money.
Good all around value for the seriously budget minded. Noisy guests made it hard to sleep. Management unable to find solution.
The breakfast was awesome. The people smoking just a few feet from our room at 2 a.m.
Room was mostly updated, clean and usable. Good breakfast. Noon checkout allowed some unexpected work to be completed prior to leaving. The AC had a slow "chunking" noise all night long. Not so loud as to drive insane but did not sleep well. TV did not have good reception on many channels.
The bed Not getting into our room
Office managers had helpful, friendly personalities. Nice to have mini fridge and microwave in room. Housekeeping did a good job, too. I've stayed at this particular one several times and there is nothing to complain about or not to like. However the toilet in our room was exceptionally low which may be a problem for older or disabled guests.
Desk staff was swift and competent. I sprung for the "King Suite" with jetted tub. The room was lackluster. The decor was outdated and cheap. There was an included fridge and microwave but they were small, dingy 80s models. Sofa sleeper had seen better days and the mattress was like sleeping on an old army cot. Dust, cobwebs and old fixtures adorned the walls and ceiling, along with the cacks in the paint and peeling wallpaper. The parking lot could have used additional maintenence. Staff attitude toward guests is cordial at best.
Very clean. Flat screen TV, good breakfast, friendly staff. Can't beat it. I've paid twice as much for a hotel before and the service and value didn't come close to my experience here. Highly recommend this hotel!!! No complaints
I didn't like how unfriendly the staff at the desk was. Also how the staff was dressed, the uniforms looked very old and it made my first impression of the hotel a bad one.
Clean rooms with great kitchenette. Location is too remote to walk to any bars/restaurants.
In the morning the person very nicely gave me a map to get to a breakfast place. Beware of the road construction, not their fault, but its a mess. Upon arriving there we were told no breakfast was being serve, it showed on my receipt we were supposed to get one. We reserved a room for three people. I guess no one mentioned that we were all supposed to share one bed. The staff smiled like Cheshire cats when I mentioned that my son was going to get his own bed and said nothing to us that we were going to end up sharing a king. The dvd player remote had no batteries and when my child was in the shower, part of it fell on him. Overall, very disappointing, oh and my allergies went haywire from the dust and animal dander in the room.
