Ventajas: El hotel es muy bueno, tiene una piscina en la terraza con el agua muy buena, y eso que era noviembre. Nuestra habitación daba hacia atrás, hacia la estación de autobuses, esto es lo único que no nos gustó, pero era una buena habitación, con terraza. El desayuno muy bueno, el café estupendo. Y el personal muy agradable.

Ventajas: La situacion: el hotel esta situado cerca del centro y enfrente del puerto marítimo. Paseo agradable.

Desventajas: Habia hormigas en la habitación. Lo dijimos en recepcion y echaron un spray.

Ventajas: Boat trip to see the caves was one of the best up closed experience. Took a local bus to Igreja Sir Luz to see the beach and it was beautiful.

Desventajas: Came in December many shops and restaurants were closed or closing.early.

Desventajas: Balcony overlooking a busy bus depot. We were moved twice due to problems with the bedrooms, not our complaining.!! We were asked if everything was good and was there anything the hotel could do for us.? I asked Miguel, due to the inconvenience, for a complimentary breakfast on the last day, his reply, I can not see a problem, obviously he did because the breakfast was not forthcoming after three requests.!! A big let down, quite unprofessional.!!

Ventajas: Small modern hotel. The location surrounded by golf course & ocean In front was so peaceful & calming. Maybe the adults only policy contributed. Spacious comfortable room & bathroom plus lounges & seating on own balcony. Beach an easy walk away & tiny train station to get to Lagos hassle free in 10minutes. Nice restaurant with indoor & outdoor eating options. Lagos close but no too close for heaps of dining options. Staff were all extremely helpful & friendly. Golf course was great

Ventajas: Rooms very large and comfortable with excellent views. Staff was welcoming, helpful and always nice. They even arranged a birthday cake for me at breakfast! Had great restaurant recommendations and made bookings for us. Was very quiet and cozy.

Ventajas: Todo. Es un lugar estupendo, tranquilo, limpio, recogido... ideal para desconectar y olvidarte del mundo!

Desventajas: Si hay que buscar algo en la parte negativa... podría ser que el desayuno abriera las puertas antes, pues se abre a las 8.45 hora local, que en el horario español es un poco tarde... Pero solo si hay que buscar mucho algo negativo. Todo lo demás, de diez!

Ventajas: The place was very nice. Meant for longer stays during summer months. We were there for one night only and were on foot. Place is up a steep hill from town. It was also off season so too cold to use poo.

Ventajas: No sé encanto todo, tanto las instalaciones como el desayuno, como la limpieza y sobre todo el trato recibido por todos los trabajadores del establecimiento los cuales nos ayudaron en todo momento tanto a la entrada como a la salida y durante la estancia. Los alrededores del hotel son estupendos y sin duda es un lugar en el que repetiríamos sin pensarlo.

Desventajas: Todo estuvo perfecto, únicamente y por decir alguna cosa, que la hora de apertura para el desayuno es un poco tarde si tu idea es levantarte pronto y aprovechar el día, ya que abren a las 8:45 de la mañana. No es para nada grave, únicamente es por si te apetece madrugar esta complicado desayunar en el buffet del hotel.

Ventajas: This place was FANTASTIC! The apartment was very comfortable and the balcony and view were really nice. The staff was super nice and helpful and seemed to really want to make sure my stay was nice. I accidentally acquired a dog half way through my stay and they were very nice about that. The area is quiet and calm, but a short distance to the town and stores and such. I don't know how the on-site restaurant was, but the breakfast was really good, with lots of choices and actual cooked scrambled eggs, which was a really nice change after many days of bread and cheese. The parking garage was really nice to have. The walk down to the sea was short, and the view spectacular. It was too cold to swim in the pool but it was large and clean.

Desventajas: The building is nestled in among some very beautiful expensive homes. This made me really sad that I was born beautiful instead of rich. :(

Ventajas: Great big colorful room with all the cooking/eating amenities we needed. Nice dining area, large balcony overlooking the pool and sea, which was still running, even in late December, easy walk to town/beach. Very courteous and helpful staff. Five-star service. Enough guests that we didn't feel the off-season blues. Watched the sun set over the sea and drank wine on our balcony.

Ventajas: The rooms are new, clean and comfortable including a bathtub (not an easy find in Lagos). There were significant vegetarian options for my wife at dinner and breakfast. Good live music entertainment at night.

Desventajas: If you are paying over $200/night it seems like an excessive price for the place since it is run more like a 3-3.5 than 4 or 5 star hotel. Some of the hotel is run down. There is a general lack of information about what to do and how to move around to and from Lagos. Staff could have been more helpful. Pool is cold which is a problem since the ocean in Lagos is numbingly cold even in the middle of July (colder than the coasts of Mexico, Brazil, the Mediterranean, beaches in SE Asia, etc). It seems like a minor thing but given the windy weather even when the town is hot, it was surprising to find very cold pools for the price paid.

Ventajas: Great hotel with great management. Everyone is friendly and goes out of their way to better serve you. They upgraded us upon arrival to a master suite. Hotel is close to the beach and has amazing pools

Desventajas: El personal! Media hora para pedir un café en el desayuno, a las 10 todo el mundo recoge y nadie atiende. Al mediodía para pedir un plato de comida se espera una eternidad!

Ventajas: Good location, excellent gym equipment, lovely large double bed with quality bedding, spacious apartment.

Desventajas: Noisy neighbours in the apartment below. The noise of scraping chairs, children screaming and running around thudding on the floors was very irritating. We were surprised the sound echoed through to our apartment above.

Ventajas: Very nice location, above the cliff, 3 swimming pools on site. Good looking hotel, and well equiped apartments.

Desventajas: Kids club closed during weekend. Gym closed early (was closed at 18.20).

Ventajas: This hotel is located within walking from some beautiful views and beaches. The apartments are spacious and well-appointed. The gastro pub is pretty good and restaurant staff were great. The room rates were affordable.

Desventajas: This is not a particularly service-oriented hotel. No list of activities. It is not oriented toward beach activities but the pools (only one of which is heated and the towels were not picked up at the one near us for days). The property is not nice to look at despite being in a beautiful area of Portugal. We spent as much time as we could away from the hotel. If you have kids of any age, I would pay the extra money for Martinhal resort. We wish we had done the same.

Ventajas: El desayuno muy completo, no faltaba de nada y los camareros muy atentos. La ubicación muy buena y tranquila para descansar. Las instalaciones del Hotel muy buenas, todo perfecto. Muy bien conservado todo, limpio y funcional. El personal correcto y acorde a un Hotel de 5 estrellas.

Desventajas: Si eres español te tienes que adaptar a los horarios y costumbres inglesas. Todo muy enfocado a ellos, desde los horario de piscina, spa, restaurantes, servicios de limpieza, ect. Por lo que pude apreciar también se alojaban muchos españoles y no se adaptaba nada a nuestras costumbres.

Ventajas: Lo que más nos gustó fue la privacidad, la amabilidad de todo el personal, lo cómodo de las camas y por supuesto el desayuno que ha sido el mejor que hemos tenido en Portugal hasta ahorita. Las tres chicas que se veia se encargaban de la cocina estaban atentas a todo y nunca permitian que se acabara nada aunque habia el área del desayuno estaba llena casi todo el tiempo. Es un lugar muy adornado de una manera típica Portuguesa, la limpieza es impecable y el wifi funcionaba excelentemente. Tiene caja fuerte, el baño y la regadera muy cómodos también y bueno. En fin. Todo nos gustó y si algún día vuelvo a Lagos no dudaría en quedarme ahi.

Ventajas: The breakfast was amazing, the rooms were very comfortable and very clean. The staff were outstanding they were all so friendly especially Oksana who gave us fantastic recommendations of where to eat.

Desventajas: There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room but the tea bags and coffee had to bought after the initial welcome selection had been used.

Ventajas: Lovely facility, great lobby/hanging space, beautiful outdoor patio [although closed because of the weather/season], welcome drink was a nice touch. Room with terrace was great! Breakfast was fantastic....when we finally had it on our last morning of 3.

Desventajas: Its unfortunate at check-in, they didn't tell/remind us that breakfast was included. We'd been traveling for 7 weeks by then and certainly didn't remember all the nuances with our various accommodations. So we missed breakfast the first two of our three mornings there. Also, they had problems with WIFI for 1 1/2 days which was frustrating. We also would've liked a small coffee maker inside our room. This was the only lodging during our long trip that didn't have this amenity.

Ventajas: La atencion del personal, la comida en el restaurante es de una gran calidad! La atencion a los detalles en el hotel nos hicieron sentir siempre mas que a gusto.

Desventajas: Los proprietarios del hotel estuvieron alli durante varias jornadas, hubiera sido un buen detalle que estos se acercaran a los huespedes para saludarlos y preguntar como se encontraban, esto es lo que normalmente los gerentes o propietarios hacen!

Ventajas: Pre-warned by reading reviews we knew to expect a quirky property with unusual rooms and we appreciated it as such. The hotel is spotless and immaculate in every area. The setting just inside the city wall overlooking the fruit and vegetable gardens from our upgraded room (thank you hotel management) was very special. The location right in the Old Town is wonderful for exploring and the free nearby car park was convenient. This parking would be virtually impossible to find without a GPS. Be sure to set your Satnav or GPS for Travessa do Cemiterio. My husband thought the next street would be fine, but it was not due the one way system and we had to drive 7 minutes in a circle to get to the right spot. Also, if hiring a car get a small one as the streets in the old town are very narrow if you get lost and drive through them. The staff were wonderfully kind and helpful and more than made up for any minor niggles with the room, making us feel special and pampered throughout our four night stay. The restaurant, serving all meals is open plan with the kitchen and it is fun to see the cook working. There were no nasty food smells. Breakfast from organic produce is interesting but choice limited, so fine for a night or two, and repetitive thereafter. We ate dinner one evening in the restaurant. The fresh ingredients were well presented with interesting tastes. It was expensive as you would expect from a 5 star hotel restaurant. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Desventajas: The lack of storage space made it impossible to be properly tidy in the room and I missed the lack of a comfortable chair. The bed was very comfortable but low to the floor which would be awkward for anyone elderly or with mobility issues. Also the safe and most power points are at floor level. Not quite what we expected from a 5 star hotel.

Ventajas: Room was very clean and tidy. Staff were helpful.

Desventajas: There was next to no space for anything in the room - clothes etc, no drawers, shelves There was no TV, kettle etc in the room, basic things you’d expect in a hotel costing far less. Nothing was said about this before booking. The breakfast options were a bit minimal and the drinks were overpriced.

Ventajas: Wonderful homemade yogurt at breakfast, excellent concept shop and comfy beds. The signature scent of the property is amazing! Karolina had so much good advice for where we should visit and she was so nice to talk to!

Ventajas: Photos of the lovely interior decor drew me to this boutique hotel in Lagos but after staying here, there’s a lot more to the space than it’s design. I love the attention to detail, minimalist but intentional like a complimentary bottle of water, fruit and a lovely hand signed greeting card. The rooms were impeccably clean which is something I look for immediately I walk in. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room worked the way it should. We had a lovely view from our balcony of the city. It was a great place to watch the sun set too.

Ventajas: This place is fantastic for small groups looking for a little piece and quiet from the touristy parts of Lagos, while still being a 10-15 minute walk from the city center. The staff at this place is what made it so memorable. They spoke great English, were personable and helpful, willing to take time to answer questions and make suggestions. I would highly recommend getting a massage with Antonio, who incorporates energy work into his massage. The pool was an absolute delight and the poolside drinks didn't hurt either. Street-side parking was free and easy. Would definitely recommend these apartments!

Ventajas: This was the best deal of our vacation. We had a large suite for 3 adults but it was big enough for 5. The facilities were excellent. We had 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, a living room and bathroom for 50 euros a night. There was a restaurant, and pool. It was a short distance from the downtown area and the beaches. Highly recommended!

Ventajas: Excellent value. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and could not believe the price as it was so good. The facilities in the apt were great (big fridge, washing machine, VCR, kitchen) and it was roomy. All rooms look out onto the lovely pool. Yes, it's 3 star but I have never stayed in a better valued 3 star. Lovely atmosphere. A supermarket 2 minutes walk. It is a bit out of the Centro part but if you have a car or don't mind a stroll, it's not so far into town (about 15 mins). There are good restaurants around Giramir. Parking is free at Giramir. As I said, for a 3 star, I can't fault it. It was so clean. Great for a family of 4. Airconditioners were there (we didn't need them - October) in every room.

Desventajas: Pillows are a little lumpy. Remember your hairdryer (if you like one). Sofa bed needs attention if you need it.

Ventajas: We visited Giramar during the "off season" in the month of October. The rates were unbelieveable at only 100euro for a two bedroom apartment for two nights. We reserved two apartments for 5 women. The apartment was very clean, and spacious. Once we figured out what direction to head in, the walk to the old section/downtown lagos was only a 15 minute walk. I would highly recommend this place to a friend!

Ventajas: Teníamos 3 balcones, cada uno con vistas a un lado distinto, con lo cual siempre daba solecito en uno y sombra en otro, y mucha luz al apartahotel. También era bastante amplio y bien equipado de menaje, en general nos gustó todo bastante.

Desventajas: No había ningún canal de televisión en castellano, aunque tampoco fuimos a ver la tele así que no fué ningún trauma.

Ventajas: The 2 bedroom apartment was completely new, very well equipped. There were 2 balconies, view to the swimming pool. It was amazing and very cheap.

Ventajas: Great breakfast with lots of choice and the cakes were delicious. Room was well positioned, with easy access to the pools and an outdoor seating area to watch the sunset. Hotel was very relaxing and had everything we needed.

Desventajas: There were a few tiles missing from the shower floor which affected the appearance, the bathroom was also a little on the small size but manageable.

Ventajas: Perfect location of breakfast for the apartments "scattered" nearby. Quality of breakfast excellent. A lot of varied food, mostly home made. Everyone will find something good for themselves.

Ventajas: Very spacious appartment, with everything you need to relax. We especially loved the diverse (included) breakfast and the big showerheads.

Ventajas: Everything! From staff to facilities, 10 min walk to everything. Big and nice rooms. Breakfast was full of options and very good quality. Definitely the best place where we stayed in Portugal.

Desventajas: Nothing. Just go for it.

Ventajas: Great location. Great parking. V quiet.. Breakfastvery good. The whole property is a delight. I can strongly recommend.

Ventajas: I had Room 101, which is a superior apartment over 3 floors including the roof terrace, which has simply sensational views over Lagos old town, the sea, and Meia Praia beach. Wow! Jessica on reception was friendly and helpful at all times. In Nov, this place was extremely good value for money. Location is great as is in the old town in a quiet spot. It is an uphill walk back from town but only 5 mins. (My rating isn't higher purely because the bathroom was dirty).

Desventajas: The bathroom was very dirty on arrival - there was hair everywhere. This was cleaned to a better standard on request. I'm not whether it was because they clean with a dirty mop that's been used in other rooms or that they hadn't really bothered to clean! Bathroom is in need of updating. Room doors a bit noisy.

Ventajas: Views, quiet, good location, not being a hotel.

Desventajas: Trying to find parking spot on street

Ventajas: Really cute room with a balcony looking to the sea. Comfortable bed. Great facilities - kitchenette in the room, pool, spa. Staff were very friendly and helpful and helped us find and book a great place for dinner.

Ventajas: Nos encantó la amabilidad de la chica de recepción , nos trato de maravilla. Nos acompañó a la habitación y nos recibieron con una botella de vino y una garrafa de agua . La limpieza es de felicitar , estaba todo impoluto. Todo genial.

Ventajas: La ubicación era estupenda. Cerca de todo. Buen trato del personal

Desventajas: Las cortinas no quitaban la luz. Cuando salía el sol no podíamos dormir

Ventajas: Las instalaciones: la piscina es excelente con vistas a la playa de Lagos, y la habitación (el estudio) a pesar de estar a pie de piscina está bien para dos personas, es amplia, decoración acogedora y baño amplio y moderno.

Desventajas: El servicio de habitaciones, las hacían muy tarde y a veces llegabamos a las 15:00 o 16:00 y no estaba hecha la habitación. La habitación (el estudio), está a pie de piscinay en la terraza no hay demasiada privacidad.

Ventajas: Ubicación en el límite entre el centro histórico con calles estrechas y la zona accesible en coche. Aparcamiento cerca, en Rua Bombeiros Voluntarios. A distancia a pie de todas partes. Zona de piscina tranquila (en noviembre), con tumbonas, con mesas y con vistas al mar.

Desventajas: Necesita una renovación general: Las toallas ya muy gastadas y colchones ablandados por el uso. La cocina podría disponer de algunos elementos más como trapos o sazonadores básicos como aceite y vinagre (al solicitarlos, amablemente me proporcionaron sal y pimienta). El jacuzzi no funcionaba bien, no pasó de 30º en los tres días que estuve allí.

Ventajas: Great location and super friendly staff. They gave us an upgrade to a room with a rooftop terrace with an amazing view! Clean, comfortable, quiet, good internet and perfect location! Great value for money!

Desventajas: Nothing

Ventajas: The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. The pool looked very nice and well kept. The location of the hotel is pretty close to the old town, however, it is on a hill which may make it difficult for some people to walk but surely thanks to it the hotel has a nice view. The bed was very comfortable as well.

Desventajas: Everything was fine other than the hilliness of the location but it is very normal for Lagos. For the winter months, they can provide duvets.

Desventajas: Dificultad para encontrarlo,en recepción es difícil encontrar a alguien por. Si tienes algún problema.

Ventajas: They have 5Litre water bottles in the reception. That's about it. Oh and a semi decent view of Meia Preia beach in fairness.

Desventajas: Towels that were meant to be changed three times during our stay were not. The place is nice but grubby - looks like a decent cleaner needs hiring. Toilet roll is in short supply and dustbins were never changed nor was there somewhere to put any rubbish.

Ventajas: The pool and the jacuzzi are a great added bonus. Location was very good as well.

Desventajas: The rooms could definitely be a bit cleaner.

Ventajas: The price, the pool, location and the freedom to come and go as you please without being annoyed by front counter staff. Fridge, toaster, balcony, cooktop & microwave all good.

Desventajas: We asked for a double and got twin beds (no other room around), rooms need an upgrade - broken and stained tiles, it just seemed unloved - but this was all expected due to the price we paid. It is self-contained but I expected dishwashing detergent and a dishcloth to be provided. No wii-fi available, but that was expected.

Desventajas: En un apartamento para cuatro personas, dos de las camas son plegables y no se duerme bien en ellas.

Ventajas: The character of the building.Location. Cleanliness of apartment.Constant hot water.

Desventajas: No one to meet you when you get there.Had to ring a phone number left on the door and wait 10 mins for someone to let us in.Towels not changed at all throughout the week.

Ventajas: I enjoyed the feeling of bieng secure and it was in the centre of the city

Ventajas: La situación en pleno centro historico de Lagos, con aparcamiento facil en las cercanías y a un corto paseo de la playa. Buena piscina con unas vistas excelentes.

Desventajas: Hemos estado 3 noches y no han cambiado las toallas, ni limpiado la habitación.

Ventajas: Definately location- in old part of town, with view for Lagos bay. We had 2 tarraces with fantastic view.

Desventajas: Bed covers need to wash. When we arrived I had to ask about toilet paper- lady from reception (mirracle to see her there) said that it is self-catering hotel, so no toilet paper is provided. I was very supprised about it- not everyone knows about it before arrive. You have to buy everything if you wish to stay longer. All apartments need to be refreshed.

Ventajas: Beautiful building, lovely part of the old city and very spacious accommodation

Ventajas: Lo mejor de la estancia ha sido, por un lado, la ubicación, muy cerca de la playa y con unas vistas maravillosas, y por otro, la posibilidad de acceder a la piscina o al jacuzzi (si bien el jacuzzi parece que se debe solicitar el acceder al mismo).

Desventajas: El personal de recepción, podríamos decir, que no existe. Normalmente dejan una nota con un tfno. para llamarles. Encontrar el hotel es dificil, pues no dispone de cartel de hotel ni nada por el estilo. La limpieza es muy escasa, la cocina no está muy limpia, tiene pocos accesorios, y el cuarto de baño es antiguo y poco acogedor, pues la bañera está amarilla.

Ventajas: Lo mejor ha sido la ubicación: muy cerca del centro y de las playas

Desventajas: Relación calidad-precio regular. Los suelos eran muy antiguos, la limpieza regular y el colchón de la cama malísimo.

Ventajas: Todo muy bien.

Desventajas: El colchón de la cama muy muy muy malo, antiguo y blando. Las almohadas también incomodas. A todas luces hace falta una renovación del mobiliario. la ubicación tampoco era buena ya que había que coger coche para ir a la playa o al centro de Lagos

Ventajas: First of all an extremely helpful staff - including Mario, who helped us a lot organising airport and local transfer, bicycle rentals etc. before arrival. Hotel itself is very nice with a beautiful pool (though rather cold out of season :-) ) and garden area. Very good breakfast with a large selection to choose from. Rooftop hot tub on new building is just amazing.

Desventajas: Location is a bit from the centre - but absolutely not a problem for our stay.

Ventajas: Clean, good breakfast, helpful friendly staff. It is a 20mins walk into the town centre but we enjoyed the exercise. Taxi back at night only €5. Hotel benefit by being really quiet and peaceful.
