Location and staff
When I first walked in the room was very out dated. The room still has wall paper. Which to me is very old school. Second was the pillow had seimen on them. Yes that's rite I said Seimen. I have pictures to prove it. I felt discussed and question about staying the night. Third is when I open the curtains to look at the view. All I can see was bird poop all over the Windows. Not a very pleasant view. I have pictures also to prove that. The pictures that was online didn't quite match the rooms in person. For the price I paid I felt like i was staying in a motel 6 yes that's bad. I told the employee Art at the service desk about my stay. He took notes and said the manager will give me a call. Can't wait for that call. He gave me two coupons for complementary drinks at the coffee shop. By the way the drinks didn't taste good so went to the trash. I wouldn't stay in the hotel the next time I'm in town which is next month.
Location/price. 3-4 blocks to Alamo right on riverwalk
Parking $16. I stayed at a higher end hotel previous night and parking was $30. Price you pay for downtown hotels, but it is nice to know in advance.
On riverwalk Old hotel with good room. Value a plus
Shower pipes banging Learning curve with heater Parking kinda a rip off Hallways need improvement (dark and dingy) Provide soap and shampoo sucked.
Friendly & polite staff. Loved the ambience of the lobby--clean, lively and fun. Housekeeping kept my room tidy and stocked with toiletries and coffee. The location was perfect--very close to the Downtown action but not right up in it. My view from the room was great. I loved seeing the toucan in the lobby. Not only was it fun to see a toucan at my hotel, but also, it appeared as if the little guy was well cared for.
For the first two nights the AC wasn't working (fan was on but no cool air coming out of it), however, it seemed to be just fine during my last night there. I was too busy to address the issue so I can only assume that someone looked at it while I was out of the room during the day. Either way, I was happy it was working upon my return. Bar/cafe staff could have been a bit more professional but I will say that I caught them towards the end of the night.
Nice scenery, location wasnt exactly where I expected it to be, but not too far from the main attractions. Most of the staff was friendly.
Didn't like that we couldn't check in until 4pm, and check out was at noon. And when I asked for an early check in I was told no rooms were available.
Staff great, old school feel, breakfast pretty good
Think reno would bump it all up a notch. Keep retro vibe but w/newer paint or some decor etc.
Staff was great. Lobby area and bar very nice.
Everything good but hotel needs upgrade in the hallways. My ac in my room did not cool right it stayed very humid in the room.
The bar was ok
I didnt like our city view when all u can see is rocks out or window and wasnt told we didnt have a balcony and bathroom sucked didnt have good water pressure there to even shower.
The staff were very helpful..
Bathroom was not cleaned properly, the vanity was not cleaned, and the bath was dirty.
Very clean. The matresses were soft and comfortable. Fun and safe atmosphere.
The,staff was extremely pleasant. Very helpful. Tooms were clean and buffett breakfast was wonderful !
Room was a bit small. But very clean
It had a bed.
Couldn't check in until an hr after our 4 of clock check in time. Parking was 20$ per night and the staff was quite rude. Wouldn't stay there again for free.
They have a Toucan & huge Turtle in the lobby. Rooms are comfortable. Cool Bar. Within walking distance of Riverwalk restaurants.
The staff really friendly the lobby was really nice
the rooms need a little remodeling the lobby is really nice and better location
There is not really a thing I liked from the hotel besides it was s place to sleep.
Had to pay for a roll away and parking. My view was horrible. If they try to book you in 404 decline it. I think they give the crappy rooms to guest that use a discount site. I would understand if we were only there one night but we were ther for the weekend. Not going to stay there again that's for sure. Wasn't even on the river walk.
Everything was comfortable. ..
Too far from food and shopping when you have little ones. Didnt get the balcony side like we were suppose to. Also missing microwave.
Large swimming pool, great ambience.
Housekeeping was a little rude. Knocked on our door at 8am then again at 10:30am and asked if we were checking out late even though check out was at noon. Not faulting the hotel for an individual's actions just disappointing.
Retro feel off the beaten path and helpful staff
Full hotel didn't have enough elevators to accommodate guests.
Beds were horrible should make a path to the river walk from the hotel
Rooms were decent. Shower barely worked.
Only 2 elevators. Had to walk around the entire floor to get to my room. Very long walk. Fire alarm was tampered with at 3am and I had to evacuate 3 children ( 8y, 6y, and 2 mo) down 3 flights of stairs on a false alarm. The money we saved wasn't worth the hassle of this hotel. I will not stay here again.
We had no water on the entire floor we stayed on. Couldn't take showers, brush our teeth, or even use the toilet. The hotel wouldn't even compensate us for the troubles.
The bathrooms were super clean and I loved how we had our own gates parking!
The rooms were gross like staying in a motel 6 for a ridiculous price! We payed $90 an it felt like we should have payed $50 for how nasty the room was. I think it would help if the renovated the rooms they need to be updated.
Very nice pool. Beds were comfortable.
The morning buffet ran out of orange juice only hour into being open. About an hour after we got there one of the two main elevators broke. This elevator stayed out of commission the whole time. It took over 15 minutes to get an elevator to go anywhere and we were on 8th floor. People would stuff themselves in like sardines just to go. Front desk seemed oblivious that there was a line of over 20 people standing with kids, luggage, etc. to get on one elevator.
It was 10:30 pm on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and they had a room available.
Decore was terrible, the room layout was weird, no food available after 10 pm.
Nice clean friendly atmosphere , room was very comfortable-
I was hoping for closer to the action - however there are plenty of ways to get around before 9pm.
There was a problem with my dinner order, but the staff tried to make it right and the rest of our stay was enjoyable..
The fire pit by the swimming pool was cool :))
When we got there, we were on a waiting list to get our room which had already been paid for in advance. The parking sucked!!!! The bed sucked!!!!!! It's basically a Motel 6 with a $250 + room Rate!!!
Clean and the staff was friendly, older hotel but kept up well.
Kayak's reservations were inaccurate, reserved a double king bed room and the hotel does not have a double king room only double double bed rooms.
Pizza menu degrading others, handicapped room, no proper gestures, no gratitudes,,,,,,
the location near downtown , easy access to get on and off the freeway
Staff was not accommodating to guests attended 2 different banquets, the hotel served the same food both nights.
