For the money I paid it was a decent hotel. They say there is free hbo and show time which there is and they have hdtv's in the rooms, but the picture quality is worse than my old tube tv from the 80's. There is also a military base nearby so after 9am there are helicopters and planes flying directly overhead which makes it difficult to sleep past 9 if you've had a late night downtown.
I thought the hotel was fine if you need inexpensive lodging. Easy drive downtown and when we had an issue with the TV someone came up in a few minutes to fix it, Overall the room seemed clean except the floors. It was clear that no one had swept behind the bathroom door or vacuumed by the vanity. Also, the don't have the SEC network.
The staff was so great. We were there for a race, and they did all they could to accommodate us, and went above and beyond in customer service.
It was nice being in a busy commercial area. We were not told of many maintenance projects occurring during our stay. Location right off the end of Army Air field was not mentioned anywhere. One night a giant plane took off right over room very very low every five minutes. While we could not really hear this in the room with the air and tv on....it was very unnerving.
Rooms were well kept and comfortable. It had the microwave and refrigerator. However, I would love to have a freezer section for a refrigerator, which was not there at least in my room. Would recommend it. A nice overall family experience. The serving area for breakfast was too crowded and small. It would be nice if they can increase the breakfast area.
Clean and everything worked fine Jets fly close overhead at all hours. It is at the end of an airport runway.
The staff was extremely pleasant and the rooms were very clean. The staff ay the breakfast was wonderful also.
Very nice overall just the usual. Thin walls don't know why they build hotels like that. Great staff clean & comfortable. Good breakfast.
Great location, great room! Definitely a repeat!
The fact That we are in the flight line of the air base was horrible. So loud. And the sound actually shook the bldg on More than one occasion
location is great Lobby bathroom was filthy.
Nothing Everything! We booked a king and gave us a double! Hotel was extremley loud could not sleep what so ever!!!!
The bed was comfortable and the room had a nice view. My room was close to the elevator and you could hear the people getting on and off plus the elevator operation vibrated through the walls. Also, the shower head dripped
Very clean, spacious rooms. the staff with extremely nice and valet was very convenient. The location is perfect for river street and the other tourist spots. This was my first time staying at courtyard Marriott and I will definitely stay again.
Staff We did online check in and they didn't use it
Located across street from Civic Center. Even on 5th floor we could hear red light green light traffic all night.
We really liked the walking proximity to everything. If you walk, bring a backpack for water and stuff you buy. The staff was Southern hospitality at it's Savannah best. The hotel was clean and they provided plenty of towels for the pool. For downtown, the rate wasn't bad. The railroad museum, a revolutionary war battlefield, and the Savannah Visitor's Center are right there. I thought there could have been a continental breakfast in there and some clarification on how/where to park would be nice. If you don't do the $18 for valet, then you'll pay about $5 less (a day) for the city parking garage across the street ( it does depend on what part of the week it is for what you pay). There is only one choice of pillow and that's squishy.
old savannah tour was the best
Good location. Lack of details. Towels are old with stains. Seems to be below Mariott standard.
I wish that we could've made our checkout time later than 1pm.
Fairly close to the city market and river street. $5 UBER ride back and forth or about a 4 block walk. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Valet parking only, and it's $18 per day.
The bed was great. I didn't find the front desk to be particularly welcoming. The room was pretty shabby for the price. Carpet needed repairing, furniture worn, bathroom in need of resurfacing and paint.
Attended a concert on River Street
Savannah = Had some issues with Comfort Suites. Had another guest enter our rm. on Sunday evening. Staff not concerned with our satisfaction.
The staff was very friendly; the breakfast was nice! It was not as close to the historic district as said. It was actually across the street from a housing project. There were no people hanging around so safety was not problem. The walk to all of the shopping and restaurants was just too far.
The people behind the desk were cool.
Staff was very nice Only one set of washer/dryer for laundry = it can take a guest over 3 hours to do laundry ---- also, there should have been some sort of shuttle to riverstreet.
We arrived late and were given an extremely warm welcome and were checked in in a very professional and proficient manner. The room was very comfortable and was huge. Unfortunately due to our late arrival we didn't have the chance to use any of the hotel facilities. Breakfast was fine and being inclusive of the room rate was a bonus.
Everthing was fine for what we needed. The A/C unit did not work as well as it should have...didn't have time to discuss with manaagment as we were there less than 14 hours...
the hotel pool was 90 degrees which was perfect during the winter. The hotel staff were excellent especially the gentleman at the front desk.
Please write at least 15 words
Friendly helpful staff Toilet flush design rather poor
very friendly staff, clean location
Strong odor in the room and no offer to move to another room.
The two young ladies that manned the front desk, one the night we checked in, and the other the morning we checked out, were both very pleasant. The location, pretty shady looking and run down area. Near the train tracks, heard the train horns all night long. The SMELL! (Located near a paper pulp mill). The room itself was bland, it was hot and humid in the room to the point that we could not comfortably fall asleep for a couple of hours. They had not turned down the AC in our room even though we had made a reservation. The room had a weird odor. All in all, not a pleasant experience. We left as soon as we got ourselves together.
Just 10 min from historic Savannah. Nice and clean lobby area. Had to do some laundry very convenient. Rooms big & comfy would recommend,
The location was somewhat away from busier area. There was much less traffic or congestion. The hotel was quiet without a lot of disruption.
Large clean rooms, great beds, big bathroom. Accomodated us with a crib and laye checkout to meet my demand for an interview that am when we had a one year old and one vehicle. A bit isolated.
The price was good for the size of the rooms you get. Very spacey. The staff were all extremely friendly. They baked fresh cookies every night for the guests as well. There was what looked like blood on the bathroom door and mold on the shower curtain in the bathroom. The hotel itself was nice appearing but the surrounding area was run down and did not seem to be in a good location (however hotel is only.minutes away from the historic district which was nice). Only other issue was that another guest seemed to be smoking marijuana and the entire hallway smelled of it for two days. I heard other guests complain but nothing was really ever done about it and those guests smoked up until they checked out in that hotel room.
the staff was very friendly and quick to help whenever needed we will stay here again everything was perfect
Always quiet, very friendly staff, easy check in & out, great heater and air conditioner. That's why we always come back to this location. Poor water pressure in shower.
I really liked the soft beds and comfortable pillows. Breakfast was lackluster.
The staff was excellent courteous and helpful. Great location. Easy to walk to most restaurants and attractions. Parking
The staff was incredibly helpful and personable. The decor was beautiful and we loved our room (although I will try for room 421 next visit). The housekeeper assigned to our room did not do a great job. When we arrived our floors were not well swept and she left an empty drink cup on the night stand.
From entering the stunning lobby to the beautiful room, everything was wonderful! The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The complimentary breakfasts were served in a sunny and comfortable room, one of my favorite features of the hotel. Located at the center of the historic district, it is the perfect location to begin the historic walks and tours. And being in walking distance of many great restaurants and pubs was really fun for us. The on-site gourmet restaurant/bar provided a perfect end to the day. This was the best hotel stay we've ever experienced! It did not have a gift shop.
The room was full of character and the bed was so comfy! The location was within walking distance to the rstaurants and night life. None-we loved it!
The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel is located in the historic district and within easy walking distance to many sights. Our room was was very comfortable and clean.
I loved the hospitality & very clean, comfortable rooms, as well as the daily breakfast & wine/cheese reception. And great location. No gym or swimming pool.
Is a nice classic hotel with history with large amount of stories, has a lot of caratehtere , nice staff, bar, restaurante and concierge, best location in town , So noisy that at 7 you are up impossible to sleep beyond that time, terrible breakfast, no minibar and the bathroom very nice but if you have not worked at the circle du soleili impossible to have a shower or climb in to the bath.
Everything was up to par. Comfortable room, great breakfast and good location
The breakfast in the sun room was wonderful. The staff was very nice and helpful. Also the wine and cheese in the afternoon was wonderful. Yes. When I first checked in my room down that long hallway on the 3rd floor I got a very uncomfortable feeling. After finding out that this hotel was a stop on all the tours including the ghost tours I grew even more uncomfortable. Please stop the tour buses from stopping in front of the hotel for their stop to tell about the hotel full of ghosts.
Nice hotel near to everything
The hotel was lovely. We are already planning a trip back later this fall and will stay longer if we can get a good rate.
The property itself is very cool - chandeliers, marble, velvet furniture, modern art, sculptures everywhere. The location is also great in that you're about a mile or so to the main dining/shopping area. The service here is terrible but I'm under the impression it's terrible everywhere in Savannah, not just here. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's a southern thing. Nevertheless, we paid 5 star prices to stay here (by southern standards) and expected 5 star service. The staff failed in this area, HARD. Examples: they didn't set up the sparkling wine service we ordered for arrival; they screwed up our room service order (literally, I ordered plain pasta with red sauce and they couldn't understand my order, so I got pasta drenched in butter); we requested a trash can several times before giving up; we had to request more toilet paper, tissues, coffee creamer, stirrers, etc., because housekeeping didn't leave it. Come on. On a side note, the amenities here are really low end. I didn't bring any shower products thinking what they'd provide would be sufficient. I ended up buying some cheap travel size things from CVS because the products here are even worse than drug store quality. This hotel needs to do a better job of staff training if it wants to be a lux hotel. As it stands right now, I've had better service at a Hampton Inn.
This is a true one of a kind boutique hotel. Wonderfully quirky, beautiful architecture and interior design. Well trained and attentive staff. Phenomenal bar and restaurant. So much more wow factor than the newer Kessler properties like the Bohemia brand. My biggest gripe with all 5 star properties (not just Kesslers) is the higher the price point the more they "al a carte" basic services such as parking, internet service, in room amenities, and "resort fees". These surprise upcharges ruin what other wise would be an excellent experience. As a recently retired traveler these charges more often than not discourage me from being a repeat customer. OK, I get paying for parking at say "The Waldorf" in NYC. Most guests don't drive there. But $22/night to park behind the building on their own property at The Mansion is absurd. And $10 for WIFI? Really? Get a grip. We're not all travelling on OP money anymore.
I have lived in Savannah all of my life and am a current New York City transplant. I had recently come home to visit my family and decided to stay at the mansion. The hotel was gorgeous - a mixture of old southern charm and the MET. The staff was also great. Very pleasant and met my every need. I would definitely stay here again if I got another chance
The Mansion opened right before I left Savannah and I have been wanting to stay there ever since! It definitely did not disappoint. The room had a view of the park and was beautifully appointed (the bathroom was spectacular). The restaurant was as good as remembered and one of my favorites- it has the look and feel people go to the Pink House for but with better food. The entire hotel and restaurant just felt very 'Savannah'- romantic and haunting. The staff was charming and friendly and I especially loved being surrounded on all sides by art! Not much not to like. I wish there was a free parking option (valet was great - friendly and accommodating) but steeply priced for the area (especially as it is their own parking lot right behind the building). Also, have never been to a 4-5 star hotel that did not have free wifi.
Than mansion itself is stunning. Beautiful decor, art, loved the room. We stayed for a week & our keys had to be replaced 5 times in that week. There were no comps or anything even offered for all of our issues with the room keys. I thought we should have been offered some sort of severance for the problems that we had. For that, I was disappointed. Also the food we ordered from room service was very overpriced & not flavorful. We had a salad & a sandwich, which was $50 & they forgot my dressing. The menu, at least for room service, was unimpressive.
Great location in a great city Concierge was pretty much useless. Couldnt make his computer work and tried to get us to eat only at their bar.
They staff was very friendly and assisted your tend to your needs Food choices were limited...I would have like to see more salads on the menu.
Very clean, modern, ferry boat crossings Late check-in time
Very friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms and facility were very clean and the beds and bedding was awesome! Luxurious, comfortable and completely accommodating for what I was looking for, for a weekend getaway. TV remote didn't work well. Upon initial call to the hotel, the front desk stated that they did not have shuttles to and from the airport. When I left and asked the front desk to call me a cab, they stated they had a shuttle that was $10 cheaper than a cab rate.
It was just my wife and our Morkie and the room was more than enough. Clean place, friendly staff. You definitely want to get a room facing the river that way you can see the ships come in and also have a view of river street. You have a ferry that can take you to river street from the Westin property for FREE. That way you are not spending $ on parking. If I'm back in Savannah I will def stay there again. N/A
Great location with a shuttle that takes you across the river 2x/hr so easy to get back and forth. Pretty grounds and for the most part very nice staff. They definitely need either a bigger pool or a second pool. With as many "pool days" as you get in Savannah, its reasonable to assume guests are for the most part going to take advantage of the pool. Its way too small for the size of the hotel, and there are no where near enough chairs. They also waste a lot of pool real estate on cabanas that they're trying to upsell...that could be more chairs. But even with more chairs the pool area is simply way too small for the capacity of the resort. Overall, upselling the cabana is reminiscent of their strategy...nickle and dime guests.
room was wonderful. Great shower, comfy bed, lots of pillows, very quiet. Always got a good nights sleep. loved the water taxi service. Room service guy was the most helpful and friendly person we dealt with the entire stay. He was great! We also liked the Green program, I like hotels that provide this option. front desk pretty much took the information and gave out keys. No information on where thing were, how to get to the water taxi, information on the different in house restaurants. We had to figure things out for ourselves and when we had to ask an employee, some were helpful and others acted like we were bothering them. I am enrolled in the starwood preferred guest program so I was expecting more helpfulness. Other Starwood properties had an info packet all ready at check in. Savannah is a destination spot so it would have been helpful if we had been given more information.
Check in time is late (4 pm) and don't count on being able to get your room a minute early.
Boring/Disorganized receptionist at Aqua Star restaurant and long waiting. The receptionist wrote my name on a piece of paper then told me to wait around 15 minutes but we waited 45 minutes. When i checked back on him , he acted confused then finally gave us a table. When we got inside, we noticed the family that came right before us were still not served. That's when we decided not to waste anymore time and leave.Overall The hotel is wonderful. More excited friendly staff and fast service
We love this hotel and decided to stay even though there was construction taking place. Our room was out of the sound of the construction but the lobby! Oh MY! We had no idea. Jackhammers as we walked in. Deafening. And the breakfast was in 2 small, crowded spaces, instead of the lovely lobby where it usually is. See the other side.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Location was okay for us. Hotel was undergoing renovations. Bathroom doors in the room did not close. Had to go through three rooms to find one that was acceptable, but even then the room we were in had issues. Not enougbsestingfor breakfast people were sitting on the floor in the hallways eating.
It was all modern/contemporary and designed very unique. Lobby was really cool. Complimentary breakfast was AMAZING--- we chose the hotel because it was included (which is hard to come by in that area) and it did not disappoint! Parking was $20 per day with the hotel valet. But there was a parking deck right next door that was only $5, so we parked there instead.
comfortable bed and good location cheap breakfast...i would not call it continental in any way... wallpapers coming off in patches.. stains on carpets... everything is cheap... not even separate complimentary shampoo and conditioner... there is.. "conditioning shampoo".. no place to hang towels... toilet paper stand was broken..
location, plenty of parking (guess there were few people there) staff not friendly or always around, breakfast was terrible, room was not what I thought I was getting, towels really thin, heat not consistent, faucet pressure so high the water rain outside the sink and got you wet
The room was a good size, clean, and comfortable. It was nicely decorated. The breakfast was disappointing: while the coffee was good, the boiled eggs tasted cold and stale, the jam packages were hard and unusable, and stayed that way during our entire stay of five days, even though I brought them to the manager's attention. The breakfast was exactly the same every day. But our kids loved it: lots of muffins and cinnamon buns, etc.
No breakfast on weekdays.
A good place to stay. Cookies delicious, breakfast good, staff friendly
Good location, quiet, service was excellent, and staff was friendly. Room was very clean as well as the rest of the hotel. Great value!
The convience of stores, restaurants and easy access to the river walk
we had a very good stay. everybody was very niiice. and the breakfast was good.
Convienence to shopping and interstate highways
The location was great for the Savannah area The tvs in the room need a movie station like pay per view or something like that.
their breakfast included with the stay was excellent. the 24 hour cookies and coffee was a nice personal touch and the atmosphere was very friendly. the pool water was cold and the jacuzzi was not in good condition. the paint was peeling.
the linens were clean. The room smelled terrible; like 50 unwashed bodies were staying there with me. I asked the hotel staff to freshen the room. They said they had but the smell continued. Since both the rooms I rented had this smell, changing the room probably would not have improved the situaltion. they did discount the room rate as compensation for the offensive smells.
The front desk staff was super friendly and courteous. The room was huge! It was really clean and the beds were so comfortable! The bathroom was big and the extra space in the room was great. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub to give my baby a bath, but the space was huge so it wasn't a big deal for 1 night.
bed and comforter were very nice room was large no movies tv did not have a schedule channel tub was not large
The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fantastic. The room was spacious and well decorated.
The location was good but it was at the end of the dow town district and there are other hotels more centrally located. The maids left trash on our desk and at 5:00pm when we returned to get ready, they still had not cleaened our room. Also, there is no self parking at the hotel so you have to find street parking if you ant to avoid paying $18 for valet parking.
Location was good Ice machines all broken Light brought in by no curtains Staff was unfriendly
Room was clean when we arrived. Breakfast room service was good once we were able to get them to answer phone. Easy walk to River Street and City Market. Room was exceptionally small. View was of busy gas station. Front desk couldn't provide a walking map when we arrived so we could determine restaurants within walking distance nor could she take time to assist. All ice machines on all floors were not working; must go to kitchen for ice. Housekeeping skipped our room the only one day we stayed over and, when we called front desk, instead of an initial apology, we were asked if we left the DND sign on door... we had not.
The staff were very kind and accomidating. We had a terrible experience. The hotel is at the edge of a rough neighborhood. Valet parking is on the street where there is a LOT of rough looking foot traffic. Our toilet didn't work. The room smelled like a sweaty locker room. The furniture was old and battered. We stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Savannah last year for less money and it was 100% better.
very close to everything downtown the room was great, except for the air conditioner... the knobs were missing and wouldn't allow us to change the temp without using a leatherman
Excellent 24/7 valet staff and service although the $25 per night fee plus tax was an unwelcome surprise. Walking distance to River St, Bay St and other areas. Staff were loud in the hallways while we were trying to sleep in. No free breakfast offered.
Very friendly staff. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great location... within walking distance to many restaurants area sites. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Noise from hallways and adjoining rooms.
Staff was courteous. No noise complaints. Fitness center is the size of a walk in closet. Out dated treadmill and bike. Would have one valet at times. Should have just stayed a couple miles out from historic district in an effort to save money. 700 dollars for 3 nights on a summer weekend.
Room was clean. Very close walk to river walk area as well as the city market area. Check-in was an hour and a half late. Valet parking was forced unless you wanted to find a parking spot somewhere on the street and carry your luggage over. Someone from the valet team also stole expensive items from our vehicle and was eating some food we had in the center console. Very unprofessional and disappointing.
Staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and very nice. It was within walking distance to all the areas sights. The rooms were a nice size and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Savannah. The only choice for parking at the hotel is valet which is $18 dollars per night.
