Great location in downtown Kansas City. Nice lobby area with full service bar. Large menu served until after midnight (Saturday night) and the food was really good. Waited in line for about 30 minutes to check into room. Only 2 staff at front desk.
The rooms were beautiful, fitness center and pool were a good size, and the help and the front desk was friendly. NOTHING is included in this $200+ room. No minifridge, no breakfast, no parking, there's even a bottle of water in the room that you will get charged for if you drink.
The Staff were friendly and explained anything I needed information about. I would have liked to have known it was valet parking only from information provided in the description.
When I arrived and checked in/got the keys, and when we were walking to the room, the staff called us saying that my visa didn't go through!! They tried again but it won't go through! So we had to leave the hotel, we went to a different one.
Location and cleanliness was great. They do have a shuttle to take you places within 3 miles but it want not operating during my stay because of staffing problems. Staff was courteous and helpful. I did like the restaurant or their menu. It is a lost opportunity. No draft beer. It's a lovely location and with the right menus and bar snacks, this place could be hopping. It was empty on super bowl Sunday; it's a shame.
Room was not ready at check in and staff seemed extremely disorganized. We sat in the lobby for an hour waiting for a room. When our room was finally available, they just thrust the keys at us and didn't direct us to our room or let us know when check out time was. The next morning, the phone rang and it was the staff asking if we still needed our car. We were sleeping and hadn't called for our car and they just kind of said oh ok and hung up. Then here comes housekeeping banging on the door while we're still in our pajamas. The room was nice but the bathroom door is a sliding door and is so close to the bed that you can hear every little noise coming from the bathroom. No bathroom privacy if you're not alone in the room. The hotel has been restored nicely but service needs some work.
Location was perfect, walking distance to sprint center, many restaurants and downtown area. The decor and appearance was classy and elegant and view was outstanding. Expensive parking $14 for one night
Great location and room Pillows were flat and hard :(
Never cleaned the room, lost my keys at the valet, mirror fell off of the wall, room service forgot to bring our order, literally anything that could go wrong did!!!!
Staff was nice Nothing
the breakfast in room was good and nice. Next to elevator in room 1224, kept me awake most of the night.
The locations was perfect for our downtown stay. The city was alive with people and I felt it was a safe place to stay. Although the hotel had an attached parking ramp, there were no stalls available for any of the guests who checked in Saturday afternoon. This was a major problem because I had to park three blocks away.
Perfect location for Power and Light District. A bit far away from the city centre; would need a bit of a refurbishment.
Front desk gave us all vouchers for free cover to get into the Power and Light district (worth $10 each) and vouchers for free cover for two of the bars within it. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Expensive parking.
Historic hotel in the heart of downtown Kansas City, close to numerous restaurants and sights, this hotel kept the old charm with nice updares to meet today's traveler. I actually ordered some cookies when I returned late from Insomnia Cookies, they delivered fresh, warm goodness. Overall the hotel is nice, clean and the showers provide nice pressure which I find less likely these days and a welcomed surprise when shampooing my thick head of hair. I was traveling for work, but I could see how it could also be a nice romantic getaway as well.
It was very close to point of interest. It also had a great bathroom! The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The room was a smaller than I expected.
