$12 parking fee. Outrageous for the location! The desk clerk did waive ours when I complained that we would be there for only 10 hours. The room price was rather high for the value.
Location The rooms are old, they smell like stale cigarettes, and the gym is poorly equipped. Only one treadmill.
The close proximity to the train station and Harvard Square, not to mention the cinemas and other shopping conveniences.
The staff of the Tria is first rate. In my estimation, they're as good as hotel personnel I've encountered at far more expensive places. The bang for the buck is pretty good here in what can be a very pricey town. Oh, and there's a really good breakfast and free parking - big plusses in Cambridge. The location is not so great and it's tough to get to for a novice driving in Greater Boston. They make up for it somewhat by having a shuttle to several key spots around Cambridge (great friendly driver, by the way).
Very friendly staff! Great pool and whirlpool area! Beautiful room. One of the best fitness rooms I have seen in any hotel I have stayed at!
This hotel is undergoing renovation. It needs it. The ac unit in our room was clearly old and beat up. There were holes in the halls where new cables are being or will be run. There were screw holes in the bathroom and an outline around them on the wallpaper of something that used to be mounted there, but isn't anymore. The water in the bathtub drained too slowly, it filled while we took a showe
Clean. Staff was friendly and got us into a room early. Helpful with transportation. Close to the T. Nice breakfast.
Size of bed and location old building, tattie in need of a lot of repairs (some most be essential!!)
The breakfast they offer was great For the price it is the worst place I have ever stayed! The beds are uncomfy, you can see where the walls have been repaired poorly, the toilet was place to far under the counter that you couldn't leave the seat up (had to hold it while using it), the fixtures and sprinklers had green corrosion covering them. I have said at better motels and spent alotttt less then $225+ a night!!
The hotel did not live up to it's description. It was shabby not boutique-like. Just an old hotel with choice of soap. The location, while convenient, was your basic strip mall surrounded by more strip malls. The parking fee was to park your own car in an open parking lot. They did not tell you that parking spaces next door were free. All in all, pretty annoying
Free shuttle bus to Harvard Square
Clean, quiet, lots of amenities (full kitchen, laundry in the house, wifi, free parking, living room, etc.), private, safe/secure, great service. Kitty made us feel very comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. I can't think of anything I didn't like even with the shared bathroom, which was always available, clean and stocked. Anyone who rents this place will not be disappointed. None
