The atmosphere of the hotel was great , the look of the hotel was beautiful and made some great memories.
The room was clean and modern. It was an excellent looking hotel in a great location. The White House is only about 3 blocks away. We were able to walk to the Verizon Center, area bars, The International Spy Museum, and other attractions in downtown DC.
The walls are paper thin. We could hear everything going on next door and it sounded like the the family upstairs had pogo sticks all night long. Every time our neighbors flushed the toilets or took a shower, it sounded like we were in their bathroom.
Location is prime right in the middle of downtown and close to numerous good restaurants.
The king bed I had was not very comfortable it felt as if my back was sinking while the rest of my body parts were aloft.
room was small and far from the elevator. had to call maintenance to get the tv to work
The checking was quick and easy and the staff friendly. We only saw the concierge once, so not much help there-we asked the taxi drivers when we had questions. The room was clean and when we asked for one extra towel to be left we got an entire stack of towels within 5 minutes. We also appreciated the vending machine & ice machine down the hallway.
Unfortunately our room was on the street side (I did ask for a room with a view) and even though we were on an upper floor, the street noise was much more than expected. Sirens and honking and back-up beeping kept us up most of the three nights we stayed. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable as well. There were no lights on the desk and tv side of the room-only on the bed side. We found that odd as it was difficult to see while reading or writing at the desk. The bathroom was spacious, but I would have liked a "night" light or dimmer in the bathroom for at night.
Hotel was very nice looking and the staff was extremely friendly. The bathroom was a good size and the best was comfortable.
There was a huge stain on our carpet and the toilet was SO loud when flushed that it woke the other person anytime someone flushed in the middle of the night. The shower liner was also dirty which was the grossest part. They were doing renovations on the hotel and did not make us aware of this when we booked the reservation. The only operating elevators in the hotel stopped working temporarily. We had to call down and let someone know and then walked down 6 flights of stairs which is fine since we are in good shape but very dangerous for someone handicapped or disabled. 9:30am we were awoken to the sounds of construction from within the hotel. 9:30 isn't really early so we weren't too mad but they should still warn their guests ahead of time that there will be renovations and construction in the morning.
The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the national mall and monuments. it is in a very safe neighborhood and there are tons of restaurants right around it. The rooms were clean and nice.
Great location! Close to everything. Large rooms and bathroom and clean. Beautiful large and relaxing lobby. Friendly staff. Chilled water with fruits always in the lobby which was great after a hot and long walk in the city.
Blanket had a stain on it. Would be nice to have a regular lounge pool rather than a fitness club type pool.
Friendly staff Clean rooms Good location for tourists
Basic rooms considering the price Rooms facing the atrium are noisy Initial requests to have items available in room at arrival were ignored (I.e. Bathrobe, mouthwash)
Myself, brother and cousin stayed for a night as we had a 5K to run the next morning. The toilet overflowed/leaked. An engineer came in to try to fix it and let us know he couldn't do anything about it. We could still use the bathroom but the water pressure is low and can't fix it at the time being so the hissing sound from the water continuously running will be there for the entire night. They offered to move us to a different room which both options were on a lower floor and facing louder sides of the street/atrium, which in my opinion wasn't comparable to the 10th floor room that was facing a quiet side of town. I decided to stay in the room and asked for ear plugs and some water. Thinking that they'd offer at least complimentary water service--didn't happen. Then around 1:30AM close to 2AM--someone came into our room. Luckily the lock handle up top was flipped and the person couldn't fully enter. It startled my cousin and I. We looked through the peephole and saw that it was an employee/an engineer who heard us and left. Obviously, we were shooken up by a stranger barging into our room. Probably thought that we were transferred to a new room and wanted to come and fix the toilet overnight. Good idea in theory but lack of communication to let them know that we were staying in the room. Either way--called the manager--they offered two breakfast buffet tickets and I declined since we were going to be out of the room by then for the race. Didn't rest much, had to deal with the hissing sound of the broken toilet of the property and had a stranger try to come into the room in the middle of the night which made us feel unsafe. Overall, the experience was not a good one.
Clean and comfortable, Metro access in connected building, great location for Mall area activities, restaurant was very good, staff was friendly, good value for DC when using Kayak
Under contruction, signs directing guests around the construction are poor, concierge wasn't very knowledgable and didn't follow up on a promise to call after doing some research, bar isn't open late enough, no free wifi, valet parking very expensive
Beware this hotel is undergoing a major (read: loud and dusty) renovation until May 2015.
Staff was very helpful and made for a great stay
Having to pay for in-room Wi-Fi just not what I expect from a quality hotel
Location, friendly, helpful staff, breakfast options
Hallway temperatures too low
Customer service during check in, the room was neat And clean.
Did not have a king bed available even thought it was confirmed online. USB port did not work. Self-checkin did not work.
Is really cheap modern style hotel with best location!!!
